Maginus partners with Microsoft for POS 2009 launch

Microsoft Dynamics POS 2009 is a flexible, scalable store management solution designed for easy use and familiarity, reducing training and deployment costs. The solution enables users to manage in store promotions, gift & loyalty cards and provides retail store managers quick access to crucial sales data, allowing more informed business decisions. The solution helps optimise store performance, and provides a role based operator experience, all designed to help stores deliver excellent customer service and provide opportunities to increase sales.

The simple touch screen format of the POS delivers an intuitive experience, and enables store staff to offer new customer service options, such as flexible payment schemes and instant alternatives to out of stock items.

Maginus has integrated the POS solution into its Multi Channel Commerce (MCC) solution, built on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform, which provides multi-store, multi-channel operations all within a single environment. MCC provides management systems that boost productivity for companies that trade across multiple channels and delivers companies the business advantage of having all of its sales channels controlled from one system.

This means that if a customer orders on-line, but wants to return a product to the store, the sales assistant can use the POS to look up the details, and effectively manage the exchange, with all the information being fed back into the back office, which maintains one view of the customer.

MCC provides companies with comprehensive control over multi-channel sales, fulfillment and service. This allows companies to market, sell and deliver products and services to customers via retail outlets, the web, catalogue and mail order, kiosks, telesales, trade counter and field sales.

Russell Dorset, Sales and Marketing Director, Maginus, said, “The beauty of the integration of POS 2009 with MCC is that all your data is held in one database, providing improved stock management, consistent pricing and promotion policies, and this ensures data accuracy and reduces the costs of maintaining multiple databases. You can view and analyse customer activity across all your channels. This is absolutely key at the moment, as customer retention is vital to maintaining a successful business. With the new solution, staff are able to use the POS to retrieve details of customer orders that have been placed online, or in call centers, so that whatever channel the customer is purchasing across, the experience is consistent.”

Jacqui Sasserath, Microsoft Dynamics POS 2009 product manager, said, “We selected Maginus as one of our strategic partners to distribute the new Microsoft Dynamics POS 2009 product, as they clearly have the retail expertise and knowledge to implement a fully integrated solution with Microsoft Dynamics AX, providing a full multi-channel experience for retail customers. The combination of Microsoft technologies with the extensive multi-channel experience of Maginus is a powerful combination in the retail market.”
